August Restaurant Round-Up
A moment for ice cream!!!
*review already up on my Substack
**review coming soon to my Substack
A good month of eats! Although, this month was mostly an ice cream extravaganza. As August should be. Au revoir summer, and hello fall!
The Mary Lane**
This place has been on my list for a while and I am so glad I finally made it! The food was fresh and flavorful, the atmosphere was airy, and the vibes were great!
The Bent Spoon (Princeton, NJ)
The Bent Spoon is one of the best homemade ice cream shops in New Jersey, perhaps even the Northeast at-large. We went back multiple times this summer and it never disappointed. Super inventive and locally-sourced flavors culminating in delicious ice cream! Will forever regret not trying the Sweet Basil flavor I also saw this day.
Clinton Street Baking Company & Restaurant*

A monthly staple.
The Bent Spoon, Part II (Princeton, NJ)

We went back the next week, of course. The flavors rotated this week, so each week is a whole new ball game. Not pictured: the second cup that I got after devouring this one which had another scoop of the Ricotta Pistachio and the Olive Oil flavor which was insane.
Somedays Bakery (Upper Montclair, NJ)

Finally got to try this TikTok viral bakery near us and it was totally worth the hype!
A-Frame Bakery (Williamstown, MA)
After going to school in Williamstown for four years and never trying this place, on a visit back this summer I finally went and now understand the hype! A local place selling homemade pastries run by one woman, and she really knows what she is doing.
Lickety Split (Williamstown, MA)
Another amazing ice cream spot that I was obsessed with when I went to school in Williamstown. Always have to get coffee and burnt sugar and butter.
Eataly, Flatiron
I had the Flatiron Eataly’s gelato earlier in the summer and I was aghast. Bursting with flavor. So on the way to a happy hour one night this month when I was hungry I decided to grab some for sustenance. Literally $8 for this little cup but it was nothing if not flavorful.
Public Eat + Drink (North Adams, MA)
Another staple from my time in Williamstown serving new American fare in an industrial chic environment. Solid stuff here.
Brick + Dough (Montclair, NJ)
A classic for our family lately! A very good pizza joint, but I have another favorite (shoutout to Artie’s) so sometimes I don’t get the pizza here.
Ci Siamo*
I’ve been here before and it was amazing. I tried something new this time and it was easily the best chicken milanese I have ever had. Ci Siamo continues to amaze. This was my lunch prior to my live Peloton class with Tunde!!! Shoutout to Manhattan West.
SLA Thai Restaurant (Upper Montclair, NJ)
A favorite Thai restaurant in town! They were no longer serving the pork ribeye special I had last time (much to my chagrin), so I went with a makeshift of the same. It was fine, but nothing compares to the amazing ribeye I had last time! Also, their curry puffs are a staple for every visit.
Somedays Bakery, Part II (Upper Montclair, NJ)
Another repeat this month! This time, we went after dinner for their late night snacks menu which includes cookies, brownies, cake, and this delicious homemade soft serve. I don’t really vibe with soft serve, but this was delicious.
The last month of summer was a great one! Sadly, I will likely not be eating out too much for the foreseeable future since I am now in graduate school (yay)! But I still have a huge backlog of restaurant reviews coming your way, so don’t fret.
